The Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 and Galaxy Book 3 Ultra may have the same 16-inch AMOLED display, but they are targeted at different demographics.
SamsungApple’s Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 and Galaxy Book 3 Ultra are two new laptop PCs it announced at its Galaxy Unpacked event, but which one of them is right for a potential buyer? While Samsung announced three new Galaxy Book 3 laptops at its Feb. 2023 event, there are actually four models. Alongside the Galaxy Book 3 Pro, Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360, and Galaxy Book 3 Ultra, there’s also the Galaxy Book 3 360, which is the cheapest of the lot.
Samsung has designed the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 and Galaxy Book 3 Ultra for different demographics, but there are a few similarities between the two PCs. They both have a 16-inch 3K Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate; 13th-gen Intel processors, the same 76Wh battery capacity, and run Windows 11 out-of-the-box. However, it is the differences that actually determine which one of them is the right choice.
Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 Vs. Galaxy Book 3 Ultra: Specs and Price
The Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360, like the other 360 models before it, is a 2-in-1 convertible. With its 360-degree hinge, the 16-inch display, which also supports touch input and is compatible with the S Pen stylus, can be folded backward and used as a tablet. Buyers don’t have to purchase an S Pen separately either since it’s included in the box. The Galaxy Book 3 Ultra lacks touch and stylus support and doesn’t have a 360-degree hinge.
Performance is where the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra shines, thanks to its high-end processing package options. Buyers can choose between the Intel Core i9-13900H with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU and the Intel Core i7-13700H with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU. The Core i9 and i7 models come with 32GB and 16GB of RAM, respectively, and users can opt for 512GB or 1TB of built-in storage. On the other hand, the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 has an Intel Core i7-1360P processor, an Intel Iris Xe integrated GPU, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB or 1TB SSD storage.
There are a few more similarities too. Both have AKG quad speakers with Dolby Atmos, a headphone jack, a 1080p webcam, studio-quality dual mics, a microSD card slot, and a fingerprint scanner. The two laptops also have a USB 3.2 Type-A port and two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports. However, while the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra has an HDMI 2.1 port, the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 has an HDMI 1.4 port. Both support Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.1, but the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 also has 5G. Despite having the same battery capacity, Samsung ships the Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 with a 65W USB-C adapter, while the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra comes with a 100W Type-C charger.
The Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 starts at $1,699 and goes up to $1,899, while the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra starts at $2,199 and goes up to $2,999. The Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 is for anyone who wants a convertible laptop that can be used like a tablet. With its included S Pen, it can also be used to draw, take notes, and annotate documents. The optional 5G support also makes it a good choice for anyone on the go. In contrast, the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra is geared toward those who want a Windows laptop with incredible processing power. And while Samsung Doesn’t market it as a gaming laptop, its powerful chipset and NVIDIA GPU allow it to serve as one.
