INDIANAPOLIS – Augustana’s Bryn Greenwaldt is the national runner-up in the 50-free. The freshman from Foley, Minnesota, timed in at 22.56 in the finals to highlight Augustana’s first day at the NCAA Division II Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Grennwaldt swam her prelim time in 22.82 and took off the blocks in lane six in the finals. At the first turn (25 yards), she timed in at 10.94 before touching the wall in second place in 22.56. She was bested only by a DII meet record of 22.1 by Johanna Buys, a fifth-year from UIndy.
Kamryn Robarge also competed in the 50-free as she timed in at 24.31 during the prelims.
The 200 medley relay quartet of Greenwaldt, Robarge, Nesrine Jelliti and Angelina Chan collected second team All-America honors. With a finals time of 1:43.30 the squad swam to a 15th place finish.

The Vikings will not have any swimmers on Thursday, but will return to the championship pool on Friday as Greenwaldt will compete in the 100-backstroke and the 200-free relay team. The meet gets underway at 9 am (CT) with the finals at 5 pm (CT).
