Los Angeles Clippers celebrity John Wall typed candidly about their struggles with mental health in a bit uploaded on Players’ Tribune Thursday.
In the line, called “I’m Still Here,” the 32-year-old stated their troubles started at the beginning of 2019, as he ruptured their Achilles while a part of Washington Wizards, the group that drafted him No. 1 total in 2010. Wall stated he suffered “such a bad infection from the surgeries that I nearly had to have my foot amputated.”
“In 2017, I’m jumping up on the announcer’s table in DC after forcing Game 7 against Boston, and I’m the king of the city,” Wall typed. “I’m getting a max extension, thinking I’m a Wizard for life. A year later, I tore my Achilles and lost the only sanctuary I’ve ever known – the game of basketball.”
Wall stated the persistent accidents in conjunction with the loss of their “best friend in the whole world” — their mommy, Frances Ann Pulley — per year later on delivered him to “a really dark place.”
